Camila Salinas (b. 2004) is a painter currently pursuing her BFA in Painting at the Rhode Island School of Design. Salinas is an American artist whose work is rooted in memory, identity, and storytelling through the means of self-portraiture. Her work draws heavily from her upbringing, personal experiences, and the people closest to her. Inspired by everyday moments, traditions, and shared, universal narratives, Salinas creates vibrant, emotionally resonant paintings that explore themes of nostalgia and belonging. Her paintings reflect her connection to what she calls home, weaving together visual elements from both Mexican and American cultures to celebrate the richness of a diasporic identity. Her art is a heartfelt tribute to heritage, family, and personal narrative. She primarily works with acrylic and oil paint to dismantle and unravel intricate memories.

Apart from being an artist and full-time student, Camila has amassed over 2.5 million followers across platforms from documenting her painting process and personality. She began to gain traction on social media through her pieces about teenage life during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2022, and since then her work has been showcased in several exhibitions nationally.
